Mqvn Community Development Consortium
Coordinated Hurricane Ida relief efforts in New Orleans East and Lafitte, Louisiana. We served over 500 meals a day for the two months following Hurricane Ida, and brought in healthcare partners to provide COVID-19 vaccines to the affected communities. We worked with local farmers to provide food access to seniors in our community. We deliver fresh produce from the community farm to over 40 seniors each week. We worked with several local business owners to qualify them for programs administered by the city of New Orleans to improve their building facades in efforts to revitalize a culturally Vietnamese commercial corridor. We are educating community members to understand risks to their community due to climate change and other environmental issues. We are working with the community to help them design green infrastructure to mitigate effects of climate disasters.
