Eligible contributions may involve writing or publishing books or articles about the reference field; teaching activities that are creative and inspirational; a constructive and imaginative program in a library; active participation in professional associations devoted to reference services; or leadership in other noteworthy professional activities.

Award of $1,250 to a USA current or former librarian, educator, or researcher for extraordinary contributions to adult services at libraries. Contributions will be evaluated based on factors such as creativity and innovation, the impact on others, demonstrated leadership, publications, and the measurable effectiveness of programs. The nominee may be a practicing librarian, a library and information science researcher or educator, or a retired librarian who has brought distinction to the profession's understanding and practice or services for adults.

Grants to Kentucky, Texas, Florida, and Louisiana nonprofit and faith-based organizations and government agencies in eligible locations for projects to improve health and quality of life. Funding is intended for programs addressing structural and social barriers to good health. The Humana Foundation partners with local communities and trusted community organizations in Louisville, KY, Texas, Florida, and Louisiana.

Grants of $50,000 to USA and territories nonprofit organizations to improve public safety and promote justice in criminalized and under-resourced communities. Funding is intended for proposals that shift power away from the police and increase law enforcement accountability and transparency.

Award of up to $5,000 to a USA, Canada, or International undergraduate activist in recognition of exceptional activities that promote the preservation of freshwater and marine resources. Eligible nominees have championed their cause and garnered peer support throughout the school year. In addition to the monetary prize, the winner will also receive mentorship from MCN and be partners for the academic year.

Grants to USA and Puerto Rico nonprofit organizations, government agencies, schools, and libraries for food security programs in eligible regions. Applicants must contact the funding source prior to submitting a proposal. The purpose of this program is to support food and nutrition programs that address malnutrition by helping to ensure access and use of nutritious foods. All eligible organizations must be located within approximately 55 miles of a U.S. Bayer site location. Bayer has locations in the following states and territories: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, and Puerto Rico.

Individuals pursuing coursework in the use of digital technology for research and teaching in all academic disciplines are eligible. Fellows must be in residence for nine months during the Fellowship period.

Grants to USA and Puerto Rico nonprofit organizations and public entities in eligible regions for programs to support patients and families managing cancer and cardiovascular disease. In areas related to cardiovascular disease, priority (though not exclusivity) will be given to charitable organizations that offer programs and support for the African American community due to the high incidence rate of disease in this population. Funding is intended for individuals specializing in the areas of printmaking, sculpture, drawing, and painting. Eligible uses of funds include travel, living expenses, tuition, and art supplies. Artists must be working in the figurative or representational tradition.

Grants of $4,000 to USA institutions of higher education to support lectureship programs in organic chemistry. Funding is intended for PhD granting research institutions with synthetic organic chemistry departments. The funding source will have no influence over the program’s content or development.

Opportunity for USA and International high school students to participate in a summer science education program. The purpose of the program is to provide participants with an opportunity to take part in outdoor activities and engage with STEAM professionals. International delegates will be from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad, and Tobago.

Grants of $1,500 and supplies to USA snowboarders to promote amateur snowboarding in remote areas. Funding is intended to support splitboard expeditions of multiple days that may focus on a tour of a region or a single summit or descent. Two separate grants are available: the Jones Backcountry Adventure Grant and the Jones Live Like Liz Award, the latter of which is open only to female applicants. Project location must be in North America.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International journalists and newsrooms to recognize outstanding work in data journalism. Entries may include but are not limited to the following topics: climate change or international conflicts. Awardees will receive a monetary prize, a certificate, and speaking opportunities.

Funding is intended for programs and conferences designed to promote STEM education research, including professional development opportunities for researchers, institutional training on the use of cutting-edge research techniques, and conferences.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International environmental educators for youth research projects in the environmental sciences. Funding is intended to support projects involving K-12 students in both formal and informal education settings, such as parks and nature centers. Funds may be used for equipment, supplies, scientific instruments, and tools that facilitate environmental research and data collection by youth.

Grants to USA nonprofit organizations for programs to enhance equity in healthcare and improve maternal and child health. Funding is intended to support initiatives that reduce maternal morbidity and mortality and reduce the rates of both preterm births and cesarean sections. Priority will be given to national programs that promote systemic change as well as programs that benefit vulnerable populations in the following states: California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia.

Grants to USA and territories nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and tribes for programs and projects to reduce risks associated with natural disasters. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Priority will be given to projects that benefit at-risk communities, low-income communities, and areas that have been previously impacted by a severe disaster.

Grants of up to $1,000 to USA teachers and school administrators, for humane science education alternatives. The goal of this program is to facilitate the replacement of animal dissection instruction with humane anatomy models. Eligible expenses include a variety of humane learning tools such as 3D digital models, synthetic specimens, and other innovative products.

Grants to USA teachers, counselors, and educators to purchase classroom equipment, materials, and supplies. The purpose of the program is to provide students in grades 6-12 with knowledge about career opportunities in the TV and film entertainment industry. Eligible applicants and their students will watch a webinar featuring entertainment professionals who speak about their careers and offer advice for aspiring media professionals. Grants may be used for classroom needs, including media or technology equipment or other classroom needs.
