Grants of up to $10,000 to North Louisiana small nonprofit organizations serving the Parishes of Caddo and Bossier for programs that benefit local residents. Applicants must attend a training session and submit an LOI before applying. Funding is intended for programs in the focus areas of economic development, civic engagement, arts and culture, environment, education, human services, health, science, organizational development, and capacity building.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Organizations may apply for a grant of up to $10,000.

Term of Contract:

The proposed program or project must begin no earlier than June 1, 2019 and end no later than December 31, 2020.

For the 2019 grant cycle, funds will be available June 1, 2019 or later, depending upon the project start date. Funds are typically disbursed two to four weeks prior to the project start date.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Small Organization Grants are awarded to organizations with annual revenue of $250,000 or less.

All applicants must have tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code or be described as an appropriate grantee for a community foundation under the IRS Code. An organization must have received its 501(c)(3) ruling letter from the IRS prior to applying for funding.

Grant applications will not be considered from an organization that is past due in submitting its final grant report to the Foundation.

No part of the grant award may be sent to a divisional, regional or national umbrella group under which the applicant operates. All grant dollars must be used exclusively for the local project or program for which the grant is requested.

Pre-proposal Conference:

All applicants are required to attend one mandatory Grant Applicant Orientation Session prior to submitting a Stage One application. Reservations are required and space is limited.The deadline to RSVP is midnight the day before each session. All sessions will be held at Community Central, 401 Edwards Street, Suite 125. The upcoming training dates are:
- Session #1 – July 16, 10:00 a.m.
- Session #2 – July 17, 10:00 a.m.
- Session #3 – July 23, 10:00 a.m.
- Session #4 – July 24, 10:00 a.m.
- Session #5 – July 30, 10:00 a.m.


Pre-Application Information:

The annual grant cycle includes two stages: Stage One opens on August 1 at 8 a.m. CST and closes August 21 at 4 p.m. CST.

For those invited to the second stage, Stage Two opens October 15 at 8 a.m. CST and closes November 15 at 4 p.m. CST.

Applicants will receive an email notification of the Board’s funding decisions in April. Grant awards will be announced to the public at the Community Foundation’s Annual Meeting the last Tuesday in April.

Small organizations may submit one application per cycle.
