Request a Grant Writer

Grants and in-kind support to USA nonprofit organizations for projects that use technology to address the world's most critical challenges. Funding is intended to support nonprofits that work toward technology-driven goals and to empower nonprofits to prioritize the utilization of technology as a mission-critical component of their projects. Consideration will be given for proposals for strategic technology planning, proofs of concept, pilot projects, or existing programs that utilize technology in a new or expanded way. All mission and cause areas are welcome.

AWS will judge proposals based on factors that include:
-Innovative and unique nature of the project;
-Impact on mission-critical goals;
-Clearly defined outcomes;
-Succinctly defined milestones;
-Detailing and applicability of AWS services within the project scope;
-Viability of proposed sustainability plan;
-Comprehensiveness of applicant’s proposal and information requested;
-Submission of proposal in correct six-pager format and within the deadline.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Organizations selected for the 2019 AWS Imagine Grant may receive the following sources:
-Up to $100,000 USD of unrestricted financial support;
-Up to $100,000 USD in AWS Promotional Credits;
-Project kickoff workshop and implementation support from AWS technical specialist(s);
-Up to 5 AWS Training Services Vouchers;
-An opportunity for AWS marketing support.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Nonprofit organizations with 501(c) status and located in the U.S. are eligible to apply. Organizations with annual operating budgets of any size are eligible to apply for this program.

Pre-Application Information:

All proposals for the 2019 AWS Imagine Grant should be submitted by 11:59 PM EST on September 15, 2019. The proposal submission portal will open on August 1, 2019.

-Announcement of Grant Opportunity: June 15, 2019
-Applications Accepted: September 1, 2019 - September 15, 2019
-Notification of Awards: November 15-30, 2019
-Awards Distributed: December 2019
