In-kind grants of trees for planting to Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas, and Wyoming nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, IHEs, and schools. The program is intended to benefit the environment by enhancing wildlife habitats, beautifying neighborhoods, and conservation activities such as reforestation in areas affected by natural disasters.

Program guidelines:

  • Tree varieties requested must be native to the growing area.
  • Requests can be made for sizes varying from bare-root seedlings up to five-gallon containers.
  • There is a minimum of 50 trees per request.
  • The program grant covers the cost of the trees and delivery to the recipient’s designated location. It is the responsibility of the grant recipient to plant and care for the trees.

Estimated Size of Grant:

There is a minimum of 50 trees per request. Apache also covers the cost of delivery.
Applicants may request the following tree sizes: bareroot seedlings, 1-gallon, 3-gallon, and 5-gallon containers.

Term of Contract:

Project date must be between October 1, 2020 - May 15, 2021. Awardees must see that trees are planted or distributed by May 15, 2021.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit charitable or governmental organization. Individuals and for-profit organizations are not eligible to apply. Nonprofit and governmental entities include cities, counties, schools, parks, universities, youth associations, wildlife refuges, and community groups.
